Cool Kids Program - Group TherapyWhat is the Cool Kids Program?

The Cool Kids Program is an extensively researched program developed by Macquarie University in the 1990's to assist children in overcoming their anxiety. Since then, the program has undergone many reviews and advancements. Both children and their parents are expected to be involved in the program to ensure that skills taught in sessions are generalised in different contexts via teaching clear and practice skills.

There are three programs suited to particular age groups, Cool Little Kids (ages 3 to 6), Cool Kids (ages 7 to 12) and Cool Kids Chilled Anxiety (ages 12 to 17).

Who would benefit from the Cool Kids Program?

The program is very well researched and highly effective in assisting children presenting with all types of anxiety including; having exessive worries (generalised), specific worries (phobias), excessive shyness (social anxiety), fears of separation (separation anxiety), suffering from panic attacks or obessive compulsive symptoms.

  • What is the benefit of attending a group?Cool Little Kids Logo

It can be isolating for some children experiencing anxiety and thus many kids who attend the group program are able to meet up withchildren with similar presenting symptoms. This creates a supporting and understanding envrionment for these children and their families and reassures them that they are not alone.

At Azza's clinic, we are recognised for assisting children and adolescents with excessive worries and anxiety issues that hinders their performance or interferes with their everyday functioning...
