Mary is a psychologist who works part-time with our clinic offering assessment and therapy services for children and adolescents.
Mary is a friendly and approachable psychologist. She is a passionate psychologist who is strongly committed to providing genuine care and assistance to children and families guiding them to enhance their quality of life and helping them to manage and better cope with challenging mental conditions. Mary aims to achieve positive outcomes through understanding the needs of children and families, continuous engagement and the implementation of effective evidenced based interventions. She is competent in delivering Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Behaviour Therapy, Creative Therapy and Play Therapy.
Mary has gained extensive experience in working with culturally diverse children and families with a range of disorders and mental health issues. Her expertise lies in delivering individual therapy to children with various mental conditions specifically in the areas of anxiety, depression, anger management and behavioural management. Mary also currently works at the Sydney Developmental Clinic in which her role includes delivering various psychological assessments and report writing. She also assists in conducting EEGs and in the completion of brain map traces for children suspected of having attention deficit disorders and is involved in medication testing.
Mary has previously worked at Learning Links whereby she gained valuable skills in the assessment of clients' needs, abilities and behaviour using a variety of methods, including psychometric assessments, interviews and direct observation of behaviour. Her role also involved the facilitation of group programs for social skills and behavior management for parents in collaboration with colleagues and health professionals. At Learning Links, Mary gained extensive experience in delivering interventions for a range of diagnosis and difficulties including but not limited to anxiety, anger, emotional regulation, depression and challenging behaviours. She also provided therapy and intervention to students with various psychological issues at various school locations.
Mary has completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology at the University of Sydney and has furthered her studies by attaining a Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology from University of Western Sydney. She works closley with other psychologists at the clinic and attends ongoing professional development to expand her skills and expertise.
Mary is a nationally registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and is an associate member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS). She is a registered service provider under the Australian Government's Better Outcomes for Mental Health Care Program. The clinic also provides services under the Psychological Support Services (PSS) and sees many clients accessing National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Program.
